When we named our mobile catering pits, we had a bomb theme going on, dubbing them Lil' Feller, Fat Boy, and The Missile. Our two stationary pits are fondly referred to as The Coffin and The Doghouse. Then along came our biggest pit, straight out of the heart of Texas. This one had a commanding presence and soon became known as Monsieur?out of pure respect.

Our last pit went on its first catering job nameless. On the way home it slipped out of its hitch on the highway and flipped over a couple of times, spewing wood and some barbecue leftovers all over the road. The pit got a bit banged up in the process, but nothing that an industrial-sized frame stretcher couldn't correct. Back in business, we named her?what else?The Runaway.
