Wedding Date May 2008

On my birthday of September 6, 2005, I had won a trip to Niagara Falls to stay at the Hilton Hotel for a weekend. Everything was included, I was really excited. However, due to work constraints and school, I didn't make any plans right away. Reggie kept pressuring me to make the plans for the trip and I kept pushing it off. Eventually, I broke down and made the plans and set the date for the weekend of 4/9/06.
The biggest thing on our list of things to do while there, was to capture a perfect picture of the 2 of us. We had asked several people to take different pictures, but none of them satisfied us. We eventually went to the Falls just to take a long stroll and that was one of the jokes that we shared. We had asked about 7 different people and couldn't get one PERFECT picture. We eventually saw a man taking pictures of the falls and he had a camera set up on a tripod and everything. I said, wow....he really looks like he knows what he's doing, let's ask him. We did and the picture was just perfect.

I told Regg that finally, our mission was complete and we have our perfect picture and I was as happy as could be. Mission accomplished. Then he said, "Not quite". I said, "What do you mean?". He started to reach inside his coat pocket and gets down on one knee. And I said, "Babe, what are you doing, get up.". He said, "Well, the mission isn't complete yet. We've been together for almost 2 years and you make me feel like the luckiest man alive. No one could ever make me as happy as you." I still was insisting that he get up off of his knees and stop playing at this point because I KNOW he wasn't doing what I thought that he was doing! He pulls the box out of his jacket and I still thought he was kidding around. He opens the box and I see the ROCK!!!!!! He says, "Will you do the honor of marrying me?" I screamed, "Of course I will!!!!".

Meanwhile, while we were celebrating the guy that had taken our perfect picture was with his wife. She got wind of what was going on and she said, "Did I witness your moment?" I said, "You sure did!" She said that her husband (the guy who had taken the picture) had asked her to marry him 26 years ago on the same exact bench! How ironic is that?!?!?!?

The picture of the few moments before our engagement is priceless. We look so content and in love. He later told me that he was waiting to propose at the falls because it is a symbol of our love. Eternally flowing.
