The Country Party house or Golden Ponds
My fiance have narrowed down our search for a reception location to two places but we can't decide between the two. We are looking at The Country Party House in East Rochester/Penfield and Golden Ponds in Greece. Anyone been to a wedding at these locations?

I had my wedding at the Diplomat Banquet Center in Gates and everything was perfect! I'm not a fan of buffet food and I could not believe how amazing and delicious the food was. They just finished their remodeling and words can't express what a beautiful job they did! And the best part is the PRICE! I looked at about every party house in the area and their prices can't be beat. They we there for my every need and I couldn't have asked for a better day!

I have eaten at Golden Ponds and I was very disappointed in both the food and the service.

keep looking. Where you have the reception is so vital to your day. Ask lots of questions and take someone with you. My planner had a get quesiton sheet. Try something out of the ordinary too. You might be surprised at what people are willing to do. I'm having mine at the Rochester Club Ballroom becasue of the food and the service. We are so excited about it!

It seems that these two places are pretty far away from each other. I would relook your location and where people are coming from. I was just at a wedding at the country party house. It was 250 people and pretty stuffed, not enough bar room at all. I know there prices are low but it's the quality you get. Another thing I found annoying there is that they wheeled out the buffet line right in the middle of the dance floor while the toasts and blessing were being made. I thought that was a little rude. I agree with the other poster, keep looking, I did and am going to Penfield Country Club and am very happy I am getting the type of setting and service that I desire. Don't just settle because in the end you won't be happy.
Don't Go to Either

Have you actually been to these places. They are cheap, but because they are not places for Weddings. Its the most romantic day of your life. I would keep looking. There are more places out there that are inexpensive.
