Burgundy Basin or the Plantation Party House

We are having trouble choosing between 2 wedding reception locations. Has anyone been to reception or had their reception at Burgundy Basin in Pittsford, NY or the Plantation Party House in Spencerport, NY? How were the receptions, how did they treat you, cost, etc. Any other feedback on having a reception at Burgundy Basin or the Plantation Party House would be very helpful.

My friend and are are pretty experienced in business and professionalism. She is from out of town and chose the Burgundy Basin and it was horrible! The servers and hosts were miserable, the food was overdone and terrible. As the maid of honor, staff kept approaching me because people were unhappy and asked ME to take care of their issues. I felt like I was working for them but tried to help where I could for my friend's sake. Overall, the wedding was one of the worst I ever attended and many guests agreed.

I'm having my wedding reception at the Burgundy Basin. Everyone seems to be very helpful there. The place is nice inside and good prices. I have looked at many other places and they seem to be the best. My wedding is in 2010

My fiancees family hosted an 80th birthday party for his grandfather last year at Burgundy Basin. While the atmosphere was nice, the food SUCKED! I can't express this enough - everything was flavorless and/or not cooked right (mushy roasted potatoes). I have heard great things about the plantation party house though!

I have been at many weddings at the plantation party house and they were wonderful. I also had my senior prom there and they did a wonderful job! The burgandy basin seems not as lit up to me. I would go for the plantation party house if I was you...

i am having my wedding there in august and i'm really looking forward to it! the garden is lovely right now (early june) and the interior has a nice light- the decor is sort of casually victorian, almost non-descript so it won't interfere with any theme. my sister has grown up having all of her athletic banquets at plantation and says the food and staff are great. good luck with planning :)

A friend of mine is having her July 2008 wedding at the Plantation and she is so happy with their staff in the planning thus far. I have been to a reception at the Burgundy Basin and found it to be cheap and informal. The bartenders were rude and messed up drinks orders. There were not enough them on hand to serve people. The dinner was fair. Not enough food was prepared; people at my table didn't even get one serving of some of the items on the buffet and planned to go out to eat after the cake was cut. We had to ask multiple times for our water glasses to be filled during dinner. Good luck.

I've been to 2 receptions at The Plantation and both were lovely. I really liked the atmosphere and the food was great! I have never been to a reception at Burgundy Basin, however I did attent a bridal shower and I was not too impressed. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for- but to me the lighting and the decor are a bit too harsh at the Basin... The Plantation is full of windows and open spaces which transition the lighting quite nicely as the sun begins to set and the garden out back is beautiful.

Reception at Burgundy Basin

My sister had her reception at Burgundy Basin on New Year's Eve 2006, and it was very nice. The food and cake were excellent, and the service was great. The prices are reasonable, I liked it so much that I am having my wedding and reception there in 2009.
