Vendors

I have been looking for a local thread on different wedding vendors (i.e. florist, photographer, limo service, DJ etc.) and have yet to find anything with good recommendations. So please use this space to post your comments on various local vendors!!!

I am currently searching for a good DJ, as this is one of the most difficult wedding selections because you usually don't get to see a DJ in action before you hire them. We were fortunate enough to "interview" a a couple of DJ's at two different weddings the past couple of months, but weren't overly impressed with either; DJ Whirlin Disc and Spectrum Sound. Anyone have any solid DJ recommendations???

Here's what we have so far in case anyone needs any ideas:

Photo - We're using Ultimate Images (http://www.uiphoto.com/home.php) for our photographer and videographer... owner Alec Bischoff's pictures are wonderful and very reasonably priced!

Reception - Our reception is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel's Pavilion... anyone else have any comments on this venue?

Limo - Our limo service is being provided by a small limousine business Nicole's Limousine 392-1569/748-7610. Owner Ralph is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He gave us a wonderful price and promised that the driver wouldn't badger us at all about $$$ or time on our special day.

Flowers - We too are looking at Bonnie's Bouquets!!! I found her here, went to her website and fell in love with her work. She was wonderful on the phone and we're meeting with her in a couple of weeks to go over details and receive a quote/estimate, so I'm hoping she'll be as wonderful as I think she will be!!!

We've also gone with Kracke Photography. We saw them at a wedding we attended at Bristol Harbour last July and my friend was so happy with the pictures.

I've known and worked with Gary Ventura for 2 years and he has impressed me with his work at weddings with me and been a good friend. He produces technically proficient and artistically excellent work. I have been inspired by his eagerness to learn and explore with some wild gear like a camera mounted on a pole for aeral perspectives. I do recommend him to shoot your wedding photos.
